Thomas J. Hickey

        Thomas J. Hickey, 75, of Hazlet, New Jersey passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, July 4, 2016 at Regency Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Hazlet. Thomas was born on November 29, 1940 in Brooklyn, New York, where he also grew up.  In 1957, he moved to Ridgewood, New Jersey. On August 27, 1966, Thomas married the loved of his life, Theresa M. (Ginnane) Hickey. In 1969, they settled in Hazlet, New Jersey to raise their family.  Before retiring, Thomas worked in food service for Lockheed Martin Company in Hightstown, New Jersey. He was also a proud United States Navy veteran, having served during the Vietnam Era.

        He was predeceased by his beloved son, Sean Hickey, his parents, Thomas and Margaret (Hart) Hickey, his step mother, Phyllis Hickey, and his siblings, Kathleen Baird and Thomas LoDico. Thomas is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Theresa (Ginnane) Hickey; his loving children, Siobhan Schaeffer and her husband, Robert, of Millton, Georgia, Deirdre Hickey-Sedor and her husband, Keith, of Piscataway, New Jersey; his dear siblings, Leonard LoDico and his wife, Lennore, and Terrence Hickey and his wife, Jane; his cherished grandchildren, Caitlin Schaeffer, Ashley Schaeffer, Quinn Sedor, and Penelope Sedor, along with many adored nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He will be sadly missed, but never forgotten. 

        Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, July 7, 2016 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM, and Friday morning, July 8, 2016 from 8:45 to 9:30 AM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3269 State Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday morning, July 8, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, 727 Highway 36, Union Beach, New Jersey 07735.
