Shirley (Salvatore) Ledden

        Shirley Ledden, 80, of Union Beach, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel, New Jersey.  She was born Shirley Salvatore on October 25, 1935 in Jersey City, New Jersey, where she grew up.  On June 29, 1956, Shirley and her husband, John, were married and began their life together.  In 1968, they relocated to Hazlet, New Jersey, to raise their family, and in 1986, settled in Union Beach, New Jersey.  Throughout her lifetime, Shirley worked as a cook at Brookdale Nursing Home, presently Regency Park Nursing Home, in Hazlet, New Jersey, and was also a Kindergarten Aid for many years at Memorial School in Union Beach, New Jersey.  She was also a devout parishioner of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church in Union Beach.

        She was predeceased by her parents, Dominick and Matilda (Pace) Salvatore, her beloved husband, John Ledden, and her siblings, Carmella Riccardi, Gary Salvatore, and James Salvatore.  Shirley is survived by her loving daughter, Lisa Rivera and her husband, Paul, of Union Beach, New Jersey, her dear siblings, Genevieve Petrick, Marie Spatolla, and Guy Salvatore, and her cherished grandchildren, PJ Rivera and Alex Rivera.  She will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

        Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, July 14, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, and Friday morning, July 15, 2016 from 10:15 to 11:00 AM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday morning, July 15, 2016 at 11:45 AM at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, 727 Highway 36, Union Beach, New Jersey 07735.  Interment will follow at Shoreland Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Hazlet, New Jersey.  For information, directions, or to send condolences to the family, please visit, www.shorepointfh.com.
