     Luis Alexander Cordoba, 57, of Hazlet, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on July 24, 2016 at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel, New Jersey.  Luis was born on August 1, 1958 in Cali, Colombia, and in 1971, he moved to the United States with his family, where they settled in Queens, New York.  Shortly after in 1972, they moved to Elizabeth, New Jersey.  Luis served in the United States Navy for 21 years and retired as a Chief Petty Officer.  After his retirement from the military, Luis and his wife, Suzanne, lived in Middletown, New Jersey for a short period of time, and they ultimately settled in Hazlet, New Jersey.  He was presently working for the United States Government as a Customs and Border Protection Officer.  

     He was predeceased by his father, Luis Cordoba, and his brother, Everth Cordoba.  Luis is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Suzanne (Maheux) Cordoba, his loving mother, Amelia (Santander) Cordoba, his adored children, Jason Richardson of Maine, Desiree Cordoba of Hazlet, New Jersey, and Krystal Cordoba of Hazlet, New Jersey, his dear siblings, Alba Murillo and her husband, Victor, of Elizabeth, New Jersey, and Carlos Arturo Cordoba of Elizabeth, New Jersey, and his cherished grandson, Samuel Richardson.  He is also survived his special nieces and nephews, Harold Ocampo, Randy Murillo, Christopher Bianchi, Evelyn Cordoba, Angela Belmonte, Jessica Godin, Ian Simpson, Ashley Maheux-English, Alexandria Veinott, and Samantha Miles, 10 great nieces and nephews, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Irene and Roger Maheux, his sisters-in-law, Arlene Simpson and her husband, Bob, and Sandra Certo and her husband, Franco, and his brother-in-law, Mike Maheux.  He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

      Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, July 28, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, and Friday morning, July 29, 2016 from 8:00 to 8:45 AM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 3269 State Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday morning, July 29, 2016 at 9:30 AM at the Church of St. Catherine Laboure, 110 Bray Avenue, N.
