August 14, 1919 ~ February 10, 2016 (age 96) 96 Years OldSusan M. Colombo, 96, of Matawan, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Old Bridge, New Jersey. She was born Susan M. Riccio on August 14, 1919 in Brooklyn, New York, where she grew up, was married, raised her family, and lived for the majority of her life. She was currently settled in Matawan, New Jersey. Susan was an avid Mets fan, and referred to them as "Her Boys." She was predeceased by her parents, Guglielmo and Maddalena (D'Uva) Riccio, her beloved husband, Peter P. Colombo, her siblings, Andrew Riccio, Vincent Riccio, Peter Riccio, Rocco Riccio, William Riccio, Madeline Albano, Anna Circolone, Baby Filomena, Filomena Galati and Antoinette Gatto, and her granddaughter's husband, Michael J. Kelsall. Susan is survived by her loving daughter, Theresa Sacco and her husband Nicholas of Matawan, New Jersey, her cherished granddaughters, Janet Kelsall, and Judith Sacco, her adored great granddaughters, Kristen and Ariana Kelsall, along with her dear sisters, Carmella Duncan, Mary Black and her husband Edward, her sister-in-law, Filomena Riccio, and many special nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Susan was also survived by her beloved granddog, Kirby. She will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, February 14, 2016 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM and Monday morning, February 15, 2016 from 8:30 to 9:15 AM, at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 3269 State Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday morning, February 15, 2016, at 10:00 AM, at Most Holy Redeemer Church, 133 Amboy Road, Old Bridge, New Jersey 07747. In respect of Susan's wishes, she will be privately cremated. In loving memory of Susan, memorial contributions to the local animal shelter of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
