Mary Born

      Mary Born, 94, of Aberdeen, New Jersey, passed into the arms of God on June 28, 2016.  She was born Mary Bogdan in Youngstown, Ohio and spent her formative years in Cleveland, Ohio, amidst two sisters and three brothers.  She married in 1945, to Walter Born, and eventually moved to Aberdeen, New Jersey.  She worked for 10 years as a librarian and also pursued singing as a hobby.  She sang in church for 40 years, and in musical productions created by her husband.  She was noted for her beautiful soprano voice.  Into her nineties, Mary sang with a small group that visited in nursing homes and sang nostalgic tunes of her generation.  In World War II, she worked at McDonald Douglas Aircraft as "Rosie the Riveter", where she worked on B-17's.  She also loved crossword puzzles and was often known to finish the crosswords in the New York Times.  She was predeceased by her parents, her beloved husband of 68 years, Walter  Born, and her siblings.  Mary is survived by her loving children, Keith and Karen Born.  She will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.  

     Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, July 1, 2016 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 3269 State Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  A prayer service will be offered at the funeral home at 8:00 PM.  In respect of Mary's wishes, she will be privately cremated.  For information, directions or to send condolences to the family, please visit, www.shorepointfh.com.
