Marilyn G. (Gibbs) Switlyk

          Marilyn G. Switlyk, 84, of Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on May 3, 2016 at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank, New Jersey.  She was born Marilyn Gibbs on January 25, 1932 in Jamaica, Queens, New York, where she grew up, in addition to, Newark, New Jersey.  In 1955, she moved to Somerville, New Jersey.  Marilyn also lived in Lebanon, New Jersey for a period of time, and most recently settled in Atlantic Highlands in 2009.  She was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Mary (Smith) Gibbs, her beloved husband, George Switlyk, and her dear siblings, Kenneth Gibbs, Elizabeth Domanski, and Virginia Svec.  Marilyn is survived by her loving children, Catherine S. Cardinale and her husband, Gary, of Hillsborough, New Jersey, George A. Switlyk and his wife, Coco, of Wellington, Florida, John J. Switlyk and his wife, Lisa, of Westfield, New Jersey, Mary Jane Switlyk of Metuchen, New Jersey, Grace S. Dakoglou of Leonardo, New Jersey, Paul M. Switlyk of Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey, and James A. Switlyk and his wife, Amy, of Lebanon, New Jersey.  Marilyn is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Genevieve Weinkle and her husband, Spencer, Melissa Palomares and her husband, Andrew, Anna Marks and her husband, Will, Zachary Butts, Matthew, Victoria, Jeremy, Sarah, and Maxwell Switlyk, and Elias Dakoglou, along with her adored great grandson, Leo Weinkle, and many special nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.  She will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.

         Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, May 6, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and Saturday morning, May 7, 2016 from 8:45 to 9:30 AM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 3269 State Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday morning, May 7, 2016 at 10:15 AM at The Catholic Church of St. Ann, 311 Carr Avenue, Keansburg, New Jersey 07734.  Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 899 Lincoln Avenue, Piscataway, New Jersey 08854.  For information, directions, or to send condolences to the family, please visit, www.shorepointfh.com.
