To the Schumacher Family and to Steve Ottinger, I am saddened by the news of the passing of Lana. The world has lost a kind human being. She was a person who worked in the medical field as a nurse, visiting nurse on fridays and on saturdays worked with women in the hospital that were expecting babies. Always caring for others. Loved her children and grand children, her brother and his family and a great husband Steve. I was glad to have been a small part of her life once.

Although I did not not know Lana, I have come to know and love her brother Mark. My words are, of course, inadequate; however, I ask the family to accept my condolences and best wishes. Mark, you expressed your profound love for your sister by rushing from California to New Jersey the moment you knew she needed your presence. I'm sure you were, and always have been, a source of comfort and filial love for Lana.
John

An intelligent mind and a compassionate heart devoted to new life for so much of her life. A loving mother who helped untold scores of other mothers.
My sympathy is with all of you who will so sorely miss Lana's joyful spirit and beautiful smile.

I am very sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you in this difficult time. I hope you may find comfort at Revelation 21:4, “And he (God) will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” We can look forward to the time when God will take away all reasons for distress and he even gives us a hope of a resurrection. (Acts 24:15) If you’d like to learn more about this beautiful hope, you can visit jw.org.
