Josephine J. (Miliano) Maita

     Josephine J. Maita, 91, of Hazlet, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel, New Jersey.  She was born Josephine J. Miliano on June 16, 1925 in Jersey City, New Jersey, where she grew up and also met her husband, Carmelo.  After marriage, Josephine and Carmelo began their life together in Jersey City, where they also remained to raise their family.  In 1986, she settled in Hazlet, New Jersey.  Before retirement, Josephine worked as a clerk for the New York Telephone Company in Manhattan, New York.  She was predeceased by her parents, Giuseppe and Maria Miliano, her beloved husband, Carmelo Maita, and her adoring daughter, Marilyn Maita.  Josephine is survived by her loving daughter, Carol Tafero and her husband, Gregory, of Hazlet, New Jersey, her dear sister, Betty Capobianco of Manalapan, New Jersey, her cherished grandchildren, Gregory Tafero Jr. and his wife, Tracey, Danielle Bailey and her husband, Robert, and Brian Tafero, along with her cherished nephew, Joseph Capobianco and his wife, Cindy, and her treasured great nieces, Nicole, Michaela, and Alexandria.  She will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

     Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday evening, January 6, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and Saturday morning, January 7, 2017 from 8:45 to 9:30 AM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday morning, January 7, 2017 at 10:00 AM at St. Benedict Roman Catholic Church, 165 Bethany Road, Holmdel, New Jersey 07733.  Interment will follow at Holy Name Cemetery, 823 West Side Avenue, Jersey City, New Jersey 07306.  For information, directions, or to send condolences to the family, please visit, www.shorepointfh.com.
