Joan DeFillippo Agnello

        Joan DeFillippo-Agnello, 69, of Keyport, New Jersey passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at her home.  She was born Joan Both on April 21, 1947 in Patterson, New Jersey, where she also grew up. In 1985, she moved to the Bayshore area of New Jersey, and in 2001, settled in Keyport, New Jersey.  Joan was always a loving, compassionate woman, and took great pride in caring for those in need.  She was a foster parent for over 25 years, helping many children along the way.  

        She was predeceased by her father, Samuel Both. Joan is survived by her mother, Betty (Landry) Both, her beloved husband, Anthony "Tony" Agnello, her loving son, Josh Agnello and his wife, Jaclyn, of Aberdeen, New Jersey, her dear siblings, Ruth Salimbene, Clifford Both, and Douglas Both, and her sister-in-law, Illuma Bernstein. Joan is also a cherished aunt, and a friend to many.  She will be sadly missed, but never forgotten. 

        Arrangements were entrusted to the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3269 State Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  In respect of Joan's wishes, she will be privately cremated. A memorial service will be held to celebrate Joan's life on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 1:00 PM, at VFW Post #4247, 146 3rd Street, Keyport, New Jersey 07735.
