Anthony Gallo Jr., 76, of Brick, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Ocean Medical Center.  Anthony was born on August 10, 1940 in Cliffwood, New Jersey, and was a life-long resident of Keyport, New Jersey.  On November 22, 1958, Anthony and his wife, Dorothy, were married and began their life together. Later in life, they retired to North Port, Florida, and in 2013, returned to New Jersey, settling in Brick.  Before retirement, Anthony worked as a heat and frost insulator for Local Union #32 in Newark, New Jersey.  In his younger years, Anthony was also involved in many Keyport community organizations.  He was a coach for Keyport Pop-Warner Little League, and a member of the Keyport First Aid Squad, as well as holding the title of Keyport Councilman from 1980 to 1986.

Anthony was an avid gardener and carpenter, in addition to being the "ultimate handy man".  He also enjoyed softball and was an excellent softball fast-pitcher.  Some of his favorite hobbies were playing horse shoes on Sunday's and singing karaoke.  Anthony loved cooking for everyone he knew and loved, but especially for those in need.  He had a giving heart and spirit, which was displayed when he would drive around the community handing out his home-made soup to the elderly and needy.  Above all else, Anthony was a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.  He adored his family and they were the driving force throughout his life.

He was predeceased by his parents, Elizabeth (Orlando) and Anthony Gallo Sr., and his siblings, Mary Faulk, Diane Howard, and William Gallo Sr.  Anthony is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 58 years, Dorothy (Hoff) Gallo, his loving children, Michele Rankl and her husband, Robert, of Jackson, New Jersey, Cheryl Lauro and her companion, Michael Bonavita, of Freehold, New Jersey, Anthony Gallo III and his wife, Robin, of Keyport, New Jersey, and Jason Gallo and his wife, Kathi, of Brick, New Jersey.  Anthony is also survived by his dear brothers, Christopher Gallo and his wife, Jane, and Alexander Gallo, his cherished grandchildren, Patrick Lauro Jr., Salvatore Lauro and his wife, Kristina, Alexandria Kiley and her husband, Patrick, Juliann Gallo, Evan Rankl, Nicholas Gallo, Angela Gallo, Jake Gallo, Luke Gallo,  Anthony Gallo IV, and Leah Gallo, and his adored great-grandchildren, Ava Kiley, Olivia Kiley, Salvatore Lauro, Anna Michele Kiley, and Lorenzo Lauro, along with his beloved dog, Timmy.  He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
