Dear Miyakawa Family,
I am deeply saddened to hear of Adam's passing. I worked together with Adam at Kumon and we shared many great times together, not just as colleagues but friends as well. We always spoke about our sons and had the pleasure of meeting your entire family at a holiday party in New York one year. I will never forget his smile and caring personality. He treated me like a younger brother and made sure I was always doing ok at work.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.
I will miss you Adam – see you again.

To the family,
My prayers for your strength are with you at this time.
I did not work directly with Adam, but I looked forward to seeing him whenever I knew our paths would meet. He had a kind spirit and never failed to show thoughtfulness towards others in all circumstances. I will miss our conversations, mostly about family and photography, but will always be grateful for having known him.
Grace and peace,
Mary Thurmond

Dear Miyakawas,
We were so saddened to learn of Adam's passing. Please know that your family is in our thoughts and prayers. As friends of Adam's parents, we have heard such loving, kind and funny anecdotes about his life growing up in New Jersey. This sudden loss has taken our breath away. Peace to all.

I worked with Adam at Kumon and he was not just a great coworker who was happy to share his knowledge but also a friend. At lunch breaks or conferences I would often talk about random facts and information I learned online or in documentaries. I remember about a year ago Adam bought me a copy of "The book of totally useless information" which I keep on my desk and happily recited whenever I could.
He was a great man, coworker and friend.

How sad we were to learn of Adam's passing. As friends of his parents in Sedona, we'd heard such wonderful stories of the family when they visited. Our hearts go out to Lisa, Noa and Kai and hope that warm memories will sustain you during this difficult time.

I started working at Kumon at the same time as Adam and trained with him for three years. We always kept in touch and I loved seeing Adam when he visited the office. I was lucky enough to meet his two boys at a Yankee game a couple of years back. He was an absolutely amazing individual, and I am thankful to have known him, if only for a short time.
It is truly devastating news, and I will forever think of Adam fondly. My thoughts and prayers are with his closest friends and family.

To Adam's Family,
I am so sorry for your loss, and deeply, deeply saddened to hear of Adam's passing. Adam was my Field Consultant at Kumon in CT, and was always so understanding, helpful - and always with that smile of his. He had a very warm personality and took pride in his work. He will be dearly missed by all who had the fortune of getting to know him.
My deepest condolences as you find the strength to deal with this senseless loss.
