Patricia Joan Elsman

       Patricia Joan Elsman, 79, of Port Monmouth, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel, New Jersey.  Patricia was born on November 25, 1936 in Irvington, New Jersey, where she grew up.  She also lived in Elizabeth, and Wall, New Jersey and most recently was settled in Port Monmouth, New Jersey.  Over her lifetime, Patricia held many positions with her various careers.  She was a hairdresser, a LPN for Beth Israel Hospital in Newark, New Jersey, and also worked in the Nursing Department at Monmouth County Correctional Facility in Freehold, New Jersey.  After she retired, she worked as a crossing guard for Middletown Township school system. Patricia also loved all animals, especially cats.  Her love for animals was displayed through her volunteer work with local animal rescue groups.  She always enjoyed traveling, going out for dinner with family and friends, and seeing Broadway shows, especially at the 1st Avenue Play House.  Patricia also greatly cherished her friends club, the Quartets.  

       She was predeceased by her parents, William Joseph and Jeanette (Rubsam) Elsman, and her dear brother, William Elsman.  Patricia is survived by her sister-in-law, Mary Ann Elsman, her cherished niece and nephew, Erica L. Costello and her husband, Paul, and William D. Elsman and his wife, Alexandra, along with her adored great niece and three great nephews.  She will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.  In respect of Patricia's wishes, she will be privately cremated.  A memorial gathering/service and entombment of Patricia's cremains will be held at Holmdel Cemetery Mausoleum, 900 Holmdel Road, Holmdel, New Jersey 07733, on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at 12:00 PM.  For information, directions or to send condolences to the family, please visit, www.shorepointfh.com.
