Stephen A. Colacurcio

Stephen A. Colacurcio, 68, of Matawan, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 16, 2018 at Bayshore Community Hospital in Homldel.  Stephen was born on June 10, 1949 in Jersey City, New Jersey, where he grew up.  On August 26, 1972, he married his wife, Jean Marie, and they began their lives together in Bayonne and in 1992, they settled in Matawan, New Jersey.  Throughout his life, Stephen worked in the construction industry as a Supervisor for Damon G. Douglas Construction Company in Jersey City.  While working constructions in Jersey City, Stephen furthered his education by attending night school at St. Peter's College and received his Bachelor's of Science Degree.  He was also a proud member of an Italian American Society called, "Unico", for many years.

He was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Mafalda (Gizzi) Colacurcio and his brother, Michael Colacurcio.  Stephen is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 45 years, Jean Marie (Yurko) Colacurcio, his dear brother, Anthony Colacurcio and his wife, Phyllis of Aiken, South Carolina, and many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.  He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.  

Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM and Thursday morning, February 22, 2018 from 9:30 to 10:15 AM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  A prayer service will be offered at the funeral home on Wednesday evening at approximately 7:45 PM.  Entombment will follow Thursday morning's visitation hours at 11:15 AM at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens Cemetery, U.S. Highway 1 North, Woodbridge, New Jersey 07095.  In lieu of flowers, donations in loving memory of Stephen to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, www.stjude.org, would be greatly appreciated.  For information, directions, or to send condolences to the family, please visit, www.shorepointfh.com.
