Ruth Julia Donnelly

Ruth Julia Donnelly (Enderlein), 89, of Hazlet, New Jersey passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at Bayshore Medical Center, Holmdel, New Jersey.  Ruth was born on April 26, 1935, in Jersey City, New Jersey where she grew up.  She met and later married the love of her life, Francis Robert Donnelly on September 12, 1953. Shortly after they married, in 1955, they moved to Keyport, New Jersey. In 1969 they moved to Hazlet, New Jersey, where they raised their family.   Ruth enjoyed working as a bank teller for over twenty years for United Jersey Bank, currently, Bank of America. Following in her faith, Ruth was a devoted and selfless member and volunteer at New Monmouth Baptist Church in Middletown, New Jersey.  While she enjoyed being a deaconess, Ruth was involved in women’s bible studies in various churches. Outside of her faith, Ruth enjoyed playing Scrabble, Mahjong, Rummikub, and doing Word Search puzzles. Above all else, Ruth loved spending time with her family.

She was predeceased by her beloved parents, John Albert, and Kathryn (Lawson) Enderlein, her loving husband of 62 years, Francis Robert Donnelly and her brother, John Enderlein. Ruth is survived by her devoted children, Bruce Donnelly and his wife Lynn of Colorado, Kathryn Johnson and her husband John of Virginia, Deborah Bradshaw, and her husband James of Mulica Hill, New Jersey and Jill Bennett and her husband Brian of Virginia, her cherished grandchildren, Melissa, Ryan, Lauren, Daniel, Branwen,( formerly Carla), Rachael and Stephen, her adored great grandchildren, Hadley Payne, Arabella Echo, Estelle, Nathan, Angelique, Sebastian, Dominic, Grayson and Asher. Ruth is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews as well as many special friends.  She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt.   She will be deeply missed, always loved, and never forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, May 20, 2024, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM and on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, from 10:30 to 11:30 AM, at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.
