It is with great sadness and heartbreak to share the news of Ross Kimball’s passing on October 7th, 2022. He is predeceased by his grandparents Russell and Ethel Kimball, Franklin W. and Margaret Teller and his uncle Gary. He is survived by his son, mother, father, brother, sister, nephews
Ross was born in Rockville, Maryland on November 15th 1986, but was raised in Holmdel, New Jersey, and graduated from Holmdel high school in 2005. Ross was an avid fisherman, spending many weekends working on the charter boats in Keyport. Ross’s first love was his family. His happiest times were spent with his son and nephews. Ross had a very outgoing personality. He lit up any room that he was in.
Anyone who has known Ross is aware that he has struggled with addiction his whole life. While he has made many attempts to overcome his dependency on heroin, and has had periods of sobriety, he ultimately lost his battle with addiction. We are all aware that there are many families facing a similar struggle, often in shame and silence. Ross was an addict; but being an addict is not a personal moral failure. Ross was a victim of failed drug policies that treat addiction as a criminal justice rather than a public health issue. We are in the midsts of a nationwide opioid addiction epidemic.
Please let his death be a reminder that addiction is a lifetime struggle. If you or a loved one struggle with addiction, please reach out.
In Lieu of flowers, we are asking for donations to the New Jersey Harm Reduction Coalition.
In respect to his family's wishes, Ross' cremation will remain private. Family and friends are invited to a memorial visitation on Thursday, October 13, 2022, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, October 13, 2022, at 8:30PM. For further information or to send condolences to the family please visit, www.shorepointfh.com
