Peter F. Yuhas Jr., 82, of Hazlet, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, April 29, 2022. Peter was born on November 13, 1939, in South Amboy, New Jersey, where he grew up. Peter met his beloved wife, Josephine, while she was vacationing in New Jersey from Italy, and they have been together and in love for the past 51 years. They were married on October 9, 1971, and began their life and raised their family together in Hazlet.
Before Peter’s retirement, he had a 30-year career as a Research and Development Lab Technician, which began at National Lead in Sayreville and followed by Solar Compounds Corp in Linden. While working as a Lab Technician, Peter also held the title of Frozen Food Manager at Pathmark in Linden, which was a job he truly enjoyed and was very proud of. Peter spent over 60 years summering at Chadwick Beach with his loving family; a place that was very near and dear to his heart. In his spare time, he was an avid crabber and enjoyed gardening, both with flowers and vegetables. He also had a love for classic country music, Elvis, and old classic cars. Most of all, Peter was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend to many. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
He was predeceased by his parents, Peter F. Yuhas and Catherine (Pescinski) Dziekan Yuhas, and his dear siblings, Dorothy Pich, Walter Dziekan, and Anthony Yuhas Sr. Peter is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 51 years, Josephine (Coppola) Yuhas, and his loving daughters, Mary Yuhas and Catherine E. Yuhas, both of Chadwick Beach. He is also survived by his dear siblings, Frances Johnson, Mary Anne Kupsch, Joseph Yuhas, and Madeline Yuhas. He was cherished by many nieces and nephews in the United States, and the entire Coppola-Conte family in Naples, Italy.
