Muriel Shea, 78, of Middletown, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at Arbor Terrace in Middletown. She was born Muriel Clark on September 18, 1946, in Brooklyn, New York, where she grew up. In 1972, Muriel and her husband, Michael, settled in Maspeth, Queens, to raise their family. In 1994, she relocated to Hazlet. Muriel was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Margaret (Devine) Clark, her beloved husband, Michael Robert Shea, and her brother-in-law, Lenny Scotto. Muriel is survived by her loving children, Dawn Davi and her husband, Salvatore, of Middletown, Michael Shea and his wife, Cathy, of Middletown, and Matthew Shea and his wife, Tara, of Hazlet, and her dear siblings, Arline Scotto, Joseph Clark and his wife, Patty, Patricia Basciano and her husband, Joseph, and Peggy Hungerford and her husband, Freddy. Muriel also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Samantha Porpora and her husband, Michael, Christine Shea, Nicole Davi, Shannon Shea, Cole Shea, Brooke Shea, Hayden Shea, and Rowan Shea, and her treasured great grandchildren, Michael and Madelyne Porpora.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and Wednesday morning, July 2, 2025, from 8:45 to 9:30 AM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday, July 2, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Benedict Roman Catholic Church, 165 Bethany Road, Holmdel, New Jersey 07733. Entombment will follow at Holmdel Cemetery Mausoleum, 900 Holmdel Road, Holmdel, New Jersey 07733.
