Mildred, “Millie” L. Bunting, 92, of Matawan, New Jersey passed away peacefully at Bayshore Medical Center, Holmdel, New Jersey on January 23, 2024. Millie was born on January 17, 1932, in Brooklyn, New York. While living in Brooklyn, she met and later married her husband Robert Napier Bunting. Soon after they were married, they moved to California for a brief time. In 1966, they moved to Cranford, New Jersey where they stayed until moving to Mount Laurel, New Jersey in 1985. Millie moved to Matawan, New Jersey in 2007.
Throughout her youth and in her teen years Millie enjoyed swimming, and spending time at the beach. All through her life, Millie was very devoted to her faith. While living in Cranford, New Jersey she attended, Trinity Episcopal Church, where she sang in the choir and was president of the Episcopalian Women’s Club. She is currently a communicant of Trinity Episcopal Church, Red Bank, New Jersey, where she was an Altar Guild Member. Millie was an active choir member in the churches she attended for most of all her life. Above all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Millie was an avid reader and enjoyed hobbies such as crossword puzzles and watching jeopardy. She was a lover of animals. Those closest to Millie will remember her for her good sense of humor.
Millie was predeceased by her beloved parents, Henry, and Hazel (Frayer) Blistrop, her loving husband, Robert Bunting and son, James Bunting. She is survived by her devoted children, Eric Bunting and his wife Tammy of Holmdel, New Jersey, Laura Lieneck and her fiancé Mark McCall of North Middletown, New Jersey, her adoring grandchildren, Zachary Bunting, Colin Bunting, Daniel Bunting, Tara Lieneck and Sean Lieneck. She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be greatly missed, fondly remembered, and always loved.
Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey was entrusted with arrangements. In respect of Millie’s wishes she will be privately cremated. A Memorial Service will be held on11:00 AM, Saturday, January 27th, 2024, at Trinity Episcopal Church, 65 West Front Street, Red Bank, New Jersey 07701. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to the American Heart Association or Trinity Episcopal Church, Red Bank, New Jersey.
