Michael R. Kmetz, 91, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at JFK Medical Center in Edison, New Jersey. Michael was born on January 20, 1930 in Garfield, New Jersey. Michael married the love of his life, Margaret Louise Bambrick, on June 14, 1964 and they began their lives together. In 1970, they moved to Toms River, New Jersey, where they remained to raise their family. Before his retirement, Michael worked as a tool and die maker for Teledyne Industries, Toms River, followed by Adamatic Inc. in Eatontown, New Jersey for many years. Michael was also a proud United State Marine Corps Veteran. He courageously fought in combat during the Korean War and was awarded the Purple Heart for his service. Most of all, Michael was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
He was predeceased by his parents, Anna (Socha) and Michael Andrew Kmetz, brother Andrew Kmetz and sister Maryanne Oakley, his beloved and devoted wife, Margaret Louise (Bambrick) Kmetz and his step daughter Karen Osborn. Michael is survived by his loving sons, Michael L. Kmetz and his wife, Patricia, of Holmdel, and Robert A. Kmetz of Atlantic City, along with his cherished grandchildren, Janis Contreni, Jacqueline Deam, Caroline Forbes, and Michael J. Kmetz.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, June 11, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. A prayer service will be offered for Michael during visitation hours at approximately 12:30 PM. Michael will be laid to rest and receive military honors on Monday, June 21, 2021 at 1:30 PM at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road, Wrightstown, New Jersey.
