Mary Caliendo, 98, of Hazlet, New Jersey, passed away at Bayshore Medical Center, Holmdel, New Jersey surrounded by her loving family on January 31, 2024. She was born Mary Sannelli in the West Keansburg section of Hazlet, New Jersey on February 19, 1925. She lived in Hazlet, Holmdel, and Red Bank and settled back again in Hazlet where she remained and raised her family.
She was predeceased by her parents Francesco and Philomena (Rosato) Sannelli, her beloved husband Ralph Caliendo, and her seven siblings, Thomas, Frank, Pat, Helen, Nettie, Jenny, and Fannie. Mary is survived by her loving children Caroline Ricca and her husband Joseph of Hazlet, New Jersey, Thomas Caliendo and his wife Debra of Aberdeen, New Jersey, Ralph Caliendo of Old Bridge, New Jersey, her cherished grandchildren Michael Ricca and his wife Christine, Michelle Bernard and her husband Anthony, Matthew Ricca and his wife Lauren, Thomas Caliendo Jr and his wife Kerin, Mark Ricca and his wife Patricia, Christine Stapleton and her husband Michael, Nicholas Caliendo and his wife Jacquelyn, Janine Caliendo, Mary Anne Stoya and her husband John, along with her fifteen precious great grandchildren, her compassionate and caring caregiver and companion Halyna Shlyusar and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday February 4, 2024, from 2:00 to 6:00 PM and Monday February 5, 2024 from 9:15 to 10:00 AM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc. 3269 State Highway Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday February 5, 2024, at 10:30 AM at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 165 Bethany Road, Holmdel, New Jersey 07733.
