Lucy M. Soto

Lucy M. Soto, 70, of Hazlet, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.  She was born Lucy Perez on November 12, 1953, in Brooklyn, New York.  Lucy spent a short time with her family in Brooklyn, New York, before moving to Jersey City, New Jersey, where she grew up and met her beloved husband, George.  In 1987, Lucy and George moved to Keansburg, where they raised their family and ultimately in 2022, she settled in Hazlet.  Before her retirement, Lucy worked as an import export clerk for Harbor Freight Transport in Newark for many years.  In Lucy’s spare time, she loved playing bingo and the lottery whenever possible.  She enjoyed Mountain Dew soda and Dunkin’ Donuts coffee, which she never went a day without.  Lucy also loved her four-legged friends, her cats and her dog, Buddy.  Most of all, Lucy adored her grandchildren and her family.  She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend to many.  Lucy will be greatly missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

She was predeceased by her parents, Odorico and Maria J. (Del Toro) Perez, her beloved husband, George Soto, her siblings, Onyria Arteaga, and Pedro Perez, her brother-in-law, Ralph Feliciano, and her dear best friend and sister, Diane San Martin.  Lucy is survived by her loving children, George Soto Jr. and his wife, Michelle, of Keansburg, Kristy Soto of Hazlet, and Jennifer Sanchez and her husband, Anthony, of Hazlet, her dear siblings, Rose C. Feliciano, Donna M. Olivera and her husband, Ramon, and Odorico Perez Jr. and his wife, Lucy, and her cherished grandchildren, Cheyenne Soto, Andrew Sanchez, and Chloe Soto.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, February 8, 2024, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and Friday morning, February 9, 2024, from 8:30 to 9:15 AM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday morning, February 9, 2024, at 10:00 AM at The Catholic Church of St. Ann, 311 Carr Avenue, Keansburg, New Jersey 07734.  Interment will follow at Fair View Cemetery, 456 State Highway 35, Middletown, New Jersey.  For information, directions, or to send condolences to the family, please visit, www.shorepointfh.com.
