Lorraine Margaret Devlin

Lorraine Margaret Devlin, 60, of Hazlet, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving son, niece, and friend Anna on Thursday, March 23, 2023.  She was born on October 4, 1962 in Glasgow, Scotland, where she spent the earlier part of her childhood.  At two years old, she and her family immigrated to the United States, starting their lives in Staten Island, New York.  They remained there for a few years before settling in Hazlet, New Jersey.  Lorraine worked as an accountant for Duferco Steel in Matawan, New Jersey for 34 years.

Lorraine dealt with much adversity throughout her life, but no matter what, always took care of the ones she loved.  She came across as quiet and shy, but was very adventurous and always eager to try new things.  She was sarcastically funny and made jokes up until the very end.  Lorraine's favorite flowers were lilies and sunflowers and she loved the color red.  In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time sitting at the Union Beach waterfront, as well as partaking in Bingo and tricky-trays.  Lorraine also loved traveling whenever possible, especially to Bermuda and Scotland, her two favorite places to visit.  Most of all, Lorraine was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to many.  She has been welcomed into heaven with open arms by her beloved parents and brother.  Lorraine will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Martha Devlin, and her brother, Scott Devlin.  Lorraine is survived by her loving son, Ryan Devlin, her cherished niece, Ashlye Devlin, her treasured great nieces and nephew, Saniya Devlin, Serenity Clay, and Daron Clay, and her dear friends, Laura, Sandy, Patricia, Anna, Christina, Diana, Lynn, and Kristin, along with many treasured co-workers and extended family and friends.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, April 2, 2023 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  Burial will take place on Monday morning, April 3, 2023 at 10:30 AM at Shoreland Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Hazlet.  A repast celebrating Lorraine's life will be held immediately following her burial at Yesterday's restaurant in Hazlet.  For information, directions, or to send condolences to the family, please visit, www.shorepointfh.com.
