Joseph S. Rizzo

Joseph S. Rizzo, 69, of Middletown, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, February 3, 2023, at Hackensack University Hospital in Hackensack, New Jersey.  Joseph was born on May 28, 1953 in Brooklyn, New York, where he grew up and met his beloved wife, Frances.  On  April 27, 1980, Joseph and Frances were married and began their life together in Brooklyn.  In 1995, they settled in Middletown, New Jersey, where they raised their family.  Before Joseph’s retirement in 2020, he worked for Bank of New York as a Business Analyst for many years.  Above all else, Joseph was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend to many.  As an avid collector and muscle car enthusiast, the family asks that anyone attending the services bring out their hot rods, muscle cars, and antique vehicles for a final ride in Joe's honor.  Joe will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

He was predeceased by his parents, Gaetano and Ana (Vasta) Rizzo and his brother-in-law, John Calabro.  Joseph is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 42 years, Frances (Libecci) Rizzo, his loving daughter, Melanie Rizzo and her fiancé, David Smith, his dear siblings, Rosalie Calabro, Joan Maffei and her husband, Fred, and Sam Rizzo and his wife, Diane, and many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Arrangements were entrusted to Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  In respect of Joseph’s wishes, he will be privately cremated.  Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at 9:15 AM at St. Catharine Roman Catholic Church, 108 Middletown Road, Holmdel, New Jersey 07733.  For information, directions, or to send condolences to the family, please visit, www.shorepointfh.com.
