Joseph A. Mazzeo Jr.,65, of Hazlet, New Jersey, passed away peacefully after a long and strenuous battle, surrounded by his loving family on September 3, 2022 at Riverview Medical Center. Joseph was born in Staten Island, NY, on May 17th 1957 to Joseph Sr. and Selma Mazzeo. On August 18th, 1990, Joseph married the love of his life Christine and they began their life together. Joe and Christine began growing their family in the home that Christine grew up in, which became their own home. He worked as a Watch Engineer for many years at Nokia at various locations. Joe was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather and brother. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
Joe was known for many things and had many hobbies, one of which being video games. He enjoyed playing video games like GTA and Destiny, especially online with other people, and really got into it. Joe had a nice setup in front of the TV where a lot of his family could find him if they were looking for him. Even his amazing dog Thea would come and spend time with him until it was bed time, when she would look at him and signal that it was time to quit for the evening. Joe was also fond of cars and working on them in his younger years. He liked camping, shooting ranges, being outdoors, and had plans with Chris to get an RV at some point and make a cross-country voyage. Most importantly though, not only was Joseph a family man at heart, but he absolutely loved children and being a role model for them. He had a way with kids and could always either make them laugh or smile. Joe had a love for all animals but especially for his furry grand babies, Abby, Artemis, Lilly and Thea.
Joe is predeceased by his mother Selma (Turner) Mazzeo, and his sister Deborah Jackson. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years Christine (Resta) Mazzeo, his children Rebecca Wallace and her husband Jayson, Joseph B. Mazzeo, and Shawnee Page and her husband Tyler, his grandchild Justyce Wallace, his siblings Steven Mazzeo, Scott Mazzeo, and Rhonda Nichols, and many other nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
