John R. Cokefair, 63, of Belford, New Jersey, passed away at his home on Friday morning, April 22, 2022. John was born on September 3, 1958, in Brooklyn, New York, where he grew up and lived into his early adulthood. In 1989, he relocated to Cliffwood Beach, New Jersey, where he lived for many years before settling in Belford in 2015. Before his retirement, John worked as a plumber for the New York City Department of Education for many years. While living in New Jersey, John was the previous Grand Knight for the Knights of Columbus with Jesus the Lord Church/ Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Keyport. He was also a proud United States Navy Veteran. Most of all, John was a loving father, companion, brother, uncle, and friend to many. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
He was predeceased by his parents, John and Rita (Dormann) Cokefair, his sister-in-law, Jane Cokefair, and his brother-in-law, James McManus. John is survived by his loving children, Noelle Cokefair and Danny Simoes, his beloved partner and companion, Robyn Manzella, his dear siblings, Peter Cokefair and Christine McManus, and many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday evening, April 25, 2022, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and Tuesday morning, April 26, 2022, from 8:45 to 9:30 AM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday morning, April 26, 2022, at 10:00 AM at Jesus the Lord Roman Catholic Church (part of Our Lady of Fatima Parish), 123 Broad Street, Keyport, New Jersey 07735. Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, 80-01 Metropolitan Avenue, Middle Village/Queens, New York.
