Ida Lillian (Ferraro) Donnelly

Ida Lillian Donnelly, 94, of Toms River, New Jersey, formerly of Union Beach, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, August 15, 2025, at Monmouth Medical Center: Southern Campus in Lakewood.  She was born Ida Ferraro on May 6, 1931, in Union Beach, New Jersey, where she grew up and met her beloved husband, Edward.  After marriage, Ida and Edward remained in Union Beach to raise their family.  In 1998, they retired to Toms River, New Jersey.  While living in Union Beach, Ida was a member of the Union Beach Board of Education.  She also worked for Keansburg Drugs, as well as at a travel agency.  She loved to travel whenever possible and was able to visit part of Europe in her lifetime.  Most of all, Ida was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many.  She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Elizabeth (Harkins) Ferraro, her beloved husband, Edward J. Donnelly, her son, Joseph Donnelly, and her brothers, Tony, Joseph, and Bernie.  Ida is survived by her loving children, Patricia Sheehan of Toms River, Edward J. Donnelly III and his wife, Abby, of Ocean View, Delaware, and Michael Donnelly and his wife, Susan, of Hazlet, her cherished grandchildren, Joseph Donnelly, Kimberly Donnelly, Nicole Donnelly, Christopher Tuberion, Ian Donnelly, Edward J. Donnelly IV, Elizabeth Donnelly, and Kelly Donnelly, 11 treasured great grandchildren, and many dear great great grandchildren.

In respect of Ida’s wishes, she will be privately cremated.  Family and friends are invited attend a memorial visitation on Friday, August 22, 2025, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and Saturday morning, August 23, 2025 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  A prayer service will be offered on Saturday morning at 10:30 AM.  Interment of Ida’s cremated remains will follow Saturday morning’s visitation at St. Joseph Cemetery, 360 Broadway, Keyport, New Jersey 07735.  In lieu of flowers, donations in loving memory of Ida to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and/or the NJ Blind Citizen Association would be greatly appreciated.  To donate, please visit, www.chop.edu and/or  www.njbca.org.
