Geraldine “Gerry” Lundrigan, 93, of Yonkers, New York, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2024 at Crest Pointe Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Point Pleasant, New Jersey. Gerry was born on March 23, 1930, in Yonkers, New York. She met and went onto marry the love of her life, Walter Lundrigan on August 25, 1951. As a family they lived fifteen years living in the Woodlawn section of the Bronx, and she spent the last 40 years in Yonkers. Gerry moved to Point Pleasant two years ago to be closer to her daughter, Patti. Gerry retired after many years from the Yonkers Board of Education, New York where she enjoyed her work as a secretary. Upon retirement she remained at the Board of Education, working as an assistant librarian.
She was a communicant of Saint Barnabas Roman Catholic Church, Bronx, New York. Gerry was very generous with her time. She loved to volunteer throughout her life, helping various organizations. She was especially dedicated to devoting her time at Saint Barnabas Church. When not volunteering her time, she was known to enjoy her shopping adventures and loved spending time with her family. Above all Gerry was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be greatly missed, never forgotten, and always loved.
Gerry was predeceased by her beloved parents, Julius and Isabelle (Gernon) Hauck, her loving husband Walter Lundrigan, her cherished son, Walter Lundrigan Jr, her siblings, Richard Hauck and Gertrude Cornell. She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Patricia Wenz and her partner Bruce Schwartz of Spring Lake, New Jersey, her caring grandson, Dean Wenz of Point Pleasant and her adored great children, Sophia, and Donovan.
Arrangements were entrusted to Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 3269 State Highway/Route 35, Hazlet, New Jersey, In respect of Gerry’s wishes she will be privately cremated. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 11:00AM at St. Barnabas R.C. Church, Bronx, NY.
