George M. (Sr.) Albrecht

George Montgomery Albrecht Sr., 90, of Cliffwood Beach, NJ, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on December 10, 2022. He was born on May 21, 1932 in Orange and then raised in Laurence Harbor, NJ. George was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. George met his beloved wife Winnie when they were both attendants in a mutual friend’s wedding.  They married on October 11,1958 and settled in Cliffwood Beach, where they raised their family and remained for 64 years. He retired in 1997 after many years of dedicated service as a carpenter for the Old Bridge Township Board of Education. George was an avid fisherman, loved to go to Atlantic City, play horseshoes and spend time with his wife Winnie and their family.

George was predeceased by his parents Robert and Mabel Elliott Albrecht, and his beloved wife of 64 years Winifred (Winnie) Hatch Albrecht who passed away less than a year ago, on January 29, 2022.  He is survived by his loving children George M. Albrecht Jr. and his wife Ellen of Hazlet, New Jersey, Robert Albrecht Sr. and his wife Linda of Surf City, New Jersey, Donna Campagna and her husband Brian Sr. of Ocean Township, New Jersey, his loving grandchildren George M. Albrecht III and his wife Lauren, Robert Albrecht Jr., Connor Albrecht, Carly Campagna, Deryn Albrecht, Brian Campagna Jr. his adored great grandchildren Maddie Albrecht, and George M. Albrecht IV, his dear sister Dorothy Bellaran, along with many other extended family members and friends.  He will be sadly missed but always remembered.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, December 15, 2022, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and on Friday, December 16, 2022, from 8:45 to 9:30 AM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 3269 State Highway 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 10:00 AM on Friday, December 16, 2022, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 727 Highway 36, Union Beach, New Jersey, 07735.
