Ellen M. Donovan, 91, passed away peacefully at home on February 21, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on September 15, 1934, in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and spent her younger years growing up in Queens, New York—years she remembered fondly.
Ellen met the love of her life, John Donovan, and they were married on June 27, 1959. In 1960, they settled in Hazlet, New Jersey, where they built a warm and welcoming home and raised their family. Their marriage, a beautiful partnership rooted in love and devotion, was a source of great joy. John preceded her in death on December 29, 2010, and together they created a lasting legacy grounded in faith, family, and commitment.
Ellen’s life was a testament to the enduring power of love and family. She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is lovingly remembered by her children, John Donovan and his wife Cynthia, and Thomas Donovan and his wife Kristina. She was a proud and cherished grandmother to Sean Donovan, Kristine Fulton, Caelan Donovan, and Blake Donovan, and a doting great-grandmother to Kellan and Alanna.
Ellen was also blessed with lifelong friendships, including her dear friend Sue and the White family, Mary Walsh, and many others whose lives were enriched by her kindness and warmth. She had a gentle spirit, a caring heart, and a deep love for those around her. Her home was a place of comfort, laughter, and unwavering support.
Ellen will be greatly missed, always loved, and never forgotten. As we bid farewell, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a legacy of love that will continue to flourish in the hearts of all who knew her. Her memory will be treasured forever, and her spirit will live on through the family she adored and the love she shared so freely.
