Eileen A. (Minogue) Gillespie

Eileen A. Gillespie, 77, of Hazlet, New Jersey, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, September 13, 2020.  She was born Eileen A. Minogue on July 28, 1943 in Brooklyn, New York, where she grew up and met her beloved husband, James.  On November 10, 1962, Eileen and James were married and began their lives together in Brooklyn, where they also started their family.  A few years later in 1969, they settled in Hazlet, New Jersey.  Before her retirement, Eileen worked as a Manager for Eyes First, a retail eyewear company with locations in Hazlet, Middletown and Red Bank.  Most of all, Eileen was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother who was adored by all of her family and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents, Chris and Theresa (Fahy) Minogue, her brother, Chris Minogue, and her brothers-in-law, Joseph Gillespie and Bob Reiners.  Eileen is survived by her beloved and devoted husband of 57 years, James P. Gillespie, her loving children, Eileen Gronwald and her husband, Robert, of Asbury, New Jersey, Catherine Hopper and her husband, Chuck, of Monmouth Junction, New Jersey, and James P. Gillespie Jr. and his wife, Alita, of Old Bridge, New Jersey and her cherished grandchildren, Ryan Hopper, Marc Hopper, Robby Gronwald, Charlotte Gillespie and Matthew Gillespie.  Eileen is also survived by her dear siblings, Mary Brouder and her husband, Daniel, and Brendan Minogue and his wife, Judith, along with her sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Joyce Gillespie, Betty and Tom Jackson, Susan Reiners and Linda Minogue.  Eileen will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and Thursday morning, September 17, 2020 from 8:45 to 9:30 AM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday morning, September 17, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, 727 Highway 36, Union Beach, New Jersey 07735.  Entombment will follow at Holmdel Cemetery Mausoleum, 900 Holmdel Road, Holmdel, New Jersey 07733.  In lieu of flowers, donations in loving memory of Eileen to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.  For information, directions, or to send condolences to the family, please visit, www.shorepointfh.com.
