Carolyn Ann (McFadden) Smith

Carolyn Ann (McFadden) Smith, 65, of South Amboy, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel.  She was born Carolyn Ann McFadden on September 28, 1958, in Staten Island, New York, where she lived for the earlier part of her childhood.  When she was 13 years old, Carolyn moved to Cliffwood Beach, New Jersey, with her family, where she graduated from Matawan High School.  After marriage, Carolyn remained in Cliffwood Beach to raise her family.

Over the years, Carolyn earned the name of “Town Mom”; she accepted everyone and anyone, always showing love to those around her.  She adored animals and especially loved spending time with her five children and granddaughter, Gianna.  In her spare time, Carolyn enjoyed painting, coloring, and collecting seashells.  Above all else, she was a loving and adoring wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend to many.  She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

Carolyn was predeceased by her parents, John and Amelia “Molly” (Palmieri) McFadden and her dear brother, John McFadden.  She is survived by her loving husband, Lee Smith Sr., her beloved children, Crystal Lavoie of North Brunswick, Dana Lavoie of Matawan, Jennafer Lavoie and her boyfriend, Tyson Brown, of South Amboy, Tim Lavoie Jr. and his wife, Nena, of Keyport, and Lee Smith Jr. of South Amboy, her cherished granddaughter, Gianna Lavoie, her sister-in-law, Karen McFadden, and her ex-husband, Tim Lavoie Sr. and his wife, Colleen.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, July 12, 2024, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  A prayer service will be offered for Carolyn at the funeral home during the visitation hours.  In lieu of flowers, donations in loving memory of Carolyn to the Monmouth County SPCA would be greatly appreciated.  To donate, please visit, www.monmouthcountyspca.org.
