Mary C. Welsh

    Mary C. Welsh, 66, of Hazlet, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Beth Israel Hospital in Newark, New Jersey.  She was born Mary C. Ryan on December 12, 1950 in Brooklyn, New York, where she was raised.  October 2, 1982, Mary married her husband, William, and they began their lives together in Brooklyn.  In 1984,  they moved to Staten Island, New York, where they lived for 14 years before settling in Hazlet, New Jersey.  Over the years, Mary worked for Lincoln Savings Bank as a bookkeeper, and later, also worked for Savings Bank Life Insurance (SBLI) as an insurance broker.

    She was predeceased by her parents, Gerald and Katherine (Dalton) Ryan.  Mary is survived by her beloved and devoted husband of 34 years, William "Bill" J. Welsh, her loving son, John Devlin of Staten Island, New York, her dear siblings, Elizabeth Lombardi and her husband, Ralph, of Belport, Long Island, New York, Gerald Ryan and his wife, Karen, of Brooklyn, New York, Laura Burke and her husband, Edmund, of Brooklyn, New York, and John Ryan and his wife, Susan, of Lakehurst, New Jersey.  She is also survived by her cherished granchildren, Emma Devlin and Ryan Devlin, her adoring daughter-in-law, Ellen Devlin, her brother-in-law and "Gambling buddy", James Welsh and his wife, Carol, and her sister-in-law, Jeanne Krygier and her husband, Joe, along with many treasured nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, extended family and friends.  Mary will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.

    Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, June 2, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM, and Saturday morning, June 3, 2017 from 8:45 to 9:30 AM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday morning, June 3, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, 727 Highway 36, Union Beach, New Jersey 07735.  Entombment will follow at Holmdel Cemetery Mausoleum, 900 Holmdel Road, Holmdel, New Jersey 07733.  For information, directions, or to send condolences to the family, please visit, www.shorepointfh.com.
