Louis Francis Spafford Jr.

        Louis Francis Spafford Jr., 77, of Keyport, New Jersey passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at his home.  He was born on February 12, 1939 in Red Bank, New Jersey, and grew up in Keyport, New Jersey.  On June 11, 1966, Louis married the love of his life, Frances Elaine (Keary) Spafford, and they started their life together in Keyport.  Louis and Frances have since remained in Keyport, New Jersey.  Louis was a United States Army veteran, having served during the Vietnam War.  Before retiring, Louis worked for United Airlines as a Cargo Supervisor in Newark, New Jersey for 20 years. After retiring from United Airlines, he began working at Keyport Marine Basin as a member of the office staff,  and remained there for 30 years.  He was always proud of his heritage, knowing that his parents were part Native American. Louis considered himself an outdoorsman.  He loved being outdoors and in the woods, surrounded by nature. 

        He was predeceased by his parents, Louis Francis Sr. and Etta (Keays) Spafford, his siblings, Marty Spafford, Alice Walsh, and Jimmy Spafford, along with his godparents, Michael and Lucy George.  Louis is survived by his beloved wife, Frances Elaine (Carey) Spafford, his loving nephews, Raymond "Bud" Walsh, Charles " Chuck" Walsh, and Michael Walsh, his great nephews, David and Scott Walsh, his great nieces, Laurie and Lisa Walsh, his 5 great great nieces and nephews, along with many extended family members and friends. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
