Herman P. Unanski

December 2, 1944 ~ November 21, 2016 (age 71) 71 Years Old


     Herman P. Unanski, 71, fondly known as "Buddy", of Holmdel, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, November 21, 2016.  Herman was born on December 2, 1944 in Newark, New Jersey, where he spent the beginning of his childhood years.  In 1956, he moved to West Keansburg, New Jersey with his family, where he graduated from Keyport High School in 1962.  After High School, Herman continued his education at Monmouth University in West Long Branch, New Jersey, and graduated in 1968 with a degree in Electrical Engineering.  On August 3, 1968, Herman and his wife, Carol, were married and began their life together in Oakhurst, New Jersey, and shortly after in 1971, they settled in Holmdel, New Jersey to raise their family.  Before retirement, Herman had a long career as a Sales Engineer for multiple electronic firms.  

     He was predeceased by  his parents, Herman and Hilda (Bihler) Unanski, and his brother, Robert Unanski.  Herman is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 48 years, Carol (Mocci) Unanski, and his loving children, Robert Unanski and his wife, Chantal, of Gilbert, Arizona, Daniel Unanski and his wife, Robyn, of Holmdel, New Jersey, and Amanda Enright and her husband, Joseph, of Belmar, New Jersey.  He is also survived by his dear sister, Valerie D'Andrea and her husband, Anthony, his adoring brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joseph and Gail Mocci, and his cherished grandchildren, Jennifer, Alex, Andrew, and Joseph, along with many special nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.  He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

     Arrangements were entrusted to the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  In respect of his family's wishes, all services will be private, and Herman will be entombed at Holmdel Cemetery Mausoleum in Holmdel, New Jersey.  In loving memory of Herman, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
