June 15, 1920 ~ February 9, 2017 (age 96) 96 Years OldEpifanio Canalicchio, 96, of Lincroft, New Jersey, formerly of Brooklyn, New York, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Care One in Holmdel, New Jersey. Epifanio was born on June 15, 1920 in Castelbuono, Italy, a small town located in Palermo, Sicily, where he was raised. While living in Sicily, he met his beloved wife, Josephine, where they began their life together and in 1954 as a young married couple, Epifanio and Josephine immigrated to the United States, settling in Brooklyn, New York to raise their family. Before retirement, he worked as a carpenter for many years for Ro Kay Woodworking in Brooklyn. In 2009, he relocated to Lincroft, New Jersey. Epifanio was a strong, selfless man, who was extremely devoted to his family. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and he will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew and loved him.
He was predeceased by his parents, Vincenzo and Domenica (Sottile) Canalicchio, his brothers, Antonio and Giuseppe Canalicchio, and his beloved wife, Josephine (Marchisotto) Canalicchio. Epifanio is survived by his loving daughters, Louise Dellasala and her husband, Dominic, of Manalapan, New Jersey, and Melinda Micciola and her husband, Joseph, of Brooklyn, New York, his dear brother, Giovanni Canalacchio, and his cherished grandchildren, Jessica Dellasala, Caitlin Dellasala, Vanessa Micciola, and Alex Micciola, along with many adored nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, February 12, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and Monday morning, February 13, 2017 from 8:30 to 9:15 AM at Scarpaci Funeral Home, 1401 86th Street, Brooklyn, New York 11228. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday morning, February 13, 2017 at 9:45 AM at The Shrine Church of St. Bernadette, 8201 13th Avenue, Brooklyn, New York 11228.
