Daniel A. Cahalane Jr.

       Daniel A. Cahalane Jr., 83, of Hazlet, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, February 5, 2017. Daniel was born on October 27, 1933 in Teaneck, New Jersey, where he was raised. In 1955, he graduated from Villanova University. In 1959, he married his beloved wife, Lorraine. They began their life together, eventually settling in Hazlet, to raise their family.

       Daniel was an avid reader, a music lover (especially Barbershop singing) and most of all an adoring husband, father and grandfather. Daniel traveled the world as an executive vice president of The Irving Trust Company in New York before retiring in 1988.

      Daniel was predeceased by his beloved and devoted wife of 56 years, Lorraine E. (Howard) Cahalane. He is survived by his loving children, Mary Cahalane and her husband David Weil, Anne Cahalane, Daniel Cahalane and his wife Christine, and Patrick Cahalane and his wife Susan, along with his cherished grandchildren, Mikaela, Daniel, Jennifer, Caitlin, Ryan, James, Jack, and Sophia. He will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.

      Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, February 10, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM and Saturday morning, February 11, 2017 from 8:45 to 9:30 AM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday morning, February 11, 2017 at 10:00 AM at St. Benedict Roman Catholic Church, 165 Bethany Road, Holmdel, New Jersey 07733.
