William F. O'Brien

William F. O'Brien, 76, of Hazlet, New Jersey, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday, May 9, 2022, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.  William was born on January 7, 1946 in Manhattan, New York, and grew up in Jersey City, New Jersey.  On April 19, 1975, William and his beloved wife, Filomena, were married and began their life together in Fairview, New Jersey.  Shortly after in 1979, they moved to Cliffside Park and in 1990, settled in Hazlet, New Jersey, where they remained to raise their family.  Before his retirement, William was a Deputy Chief at the Jersey City Fire Department.  Most of all, he was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend to many.  He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

He was predeceased by his parents, William and Elizabeth (Litz) O'Brien.  William is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 47 years, Filomena (Lombardo) O'Brien, his loving children, Jennifer O'Brien of Jersey City, Michael O'Brien and his wife, Cheryl, of Hazlet, William O'Brien and his wife, Carolina, of Eatontown, Jeffrey O'Brien of Hazlet, and Matthew O'Brien and his wife, Jessica, of Atlantic Highlands, his dear siblings, Thomas O'Brien and his wife, Debbie, of Jersey City, and Christine Bennett and her husband, Ed, of Tennessee, and his cherished grandchildren, Kristina and Madison O'Brien.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Saturday, May 14, 2022, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  The Air Force will be present military honors to William at approximately 4:30 PM.  In respect of William's wishes, he will be privately cremated.  For information, directions, or to send condolences to the family, please visit, www.shorepointfh.com.
