William Fred Hertzke Jr.

William Fred Hertzke Jr., 60, of Union Beach, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, August 1, 2025.  William was born on February 10, 1965, in Red Bank, New Jersey, and grew up in Hazlet, New Jersey.  William met his beloved wife, Karen, at just 15 years old and began their love story.  They were married on June 17, 1984, and settled in Hazlet, where they remained to raise their family.  Just a few months ago, William and Karen moved to Union Beach.

William worked for Local Union #28 in New York as a sheet metal worker for many years.  Throughout his life, William coached basketball, baseball and softball for kids of all ages.  He loved his time spent coaching and all the kids adored him.  He also enjoyed fishing in his spare time.  Most of all, William was a loving son, husband, father, brother, and grandfather.  He will be greatly missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

He was predeceased by his parents, William Fred Hertzke Sr. and Judith (MacWithey) Hertzke.  William is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 41 years, Karen (Waugh) Hertzke, his son, William John Hertzke, his loving daughter, Kara Camacho and her husband, Michael, his dear mother-in-law and father-in-law, Roberta and Jack Waugh, and his stepbrothers, Roy and Pete Westbrook.  William is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Bentley, Mark, James, Violet, and Blake.

Arrangements were entrusted to Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.
