Waldo A. Roa, 90, of Eatontown, New Jersey passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family at home on Sunday, August 6, 2023. He was born on April 17, 1933, in Los Banos, Laguna, Phillipines. He met and later married the love of his life, Preciousa Lancero on May 16, 1959. They remained in the Philippines until moving to the United States in 1986. He dedicated many years and retired from Hobart Adamatic Company in Eatontown, New Jersey. A long-time member of the Reformed (Community) Church of Keyport), Waldo took pride in being a faithful servant of God, serving as a deacon, elder, consistory vice president and classis delegate. After attending New Brunswick Theological Seminary, he provided pastoral leadership for the church for several years. Outside of his faith, he was Rotary President, member of Free Mason as well as being a Past Grand Master 32nd degree and he was on the Board of Directors for Pilgrim University.
Waldo was predeceased by his beloved parents, Manuel A. and Francisca (Avacena) Roa and nine siblings. He is survived by his loving wife Preciousa (Lancero) Roa and his caring son Lif Van Roa and his wife Elvira B. of Tinton Falls, cherished grandchildren, Love Roa and Vanni Roa. He was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730 was entrusted with Waldo’s funeral arrangements. In respect of Waldo’s wishes he will be privately cremated. A memorial service will be held in Saturday, August 26th at 10 a.m. at the Community Church of Keyport, Warren Street, Keyport. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to Community Church of Keyport (P.O. Box 562, Keyport, N. J. 07735) in memory of Waldo Roa.
