Victoria Della Rosa

Victoria Christine Della Rosa, born on June 10, 1954, in Newark, New Jersey, passed away on July 4, 2026, in Hazlet, New Jersey, leaving behind a life marked by warmth, devotion, and a deep love for family and community.

Victoria was the beloved daughter of the late Samuel Anthony and Joanne Velma (Smydermon) DeRogatis. She grew up in West Orange, and from an early age she was known for her spirited nature, her friendly smile, and her ability to make others feel welcome. She carried those qualities throughout her life, touching the hearts of many with her kindness, humor, and generous spirit. Victoria and Anthony built their life together with love and dedication. After marrying, they made their home in Bayonne before later moving to Jersey City. In 1992, they settled in Hazlet with their family, where she remained for the rest of her life. Her home was a place of love, faith, and welcome, and she took great pride in the family life she helped create.

Victoria was a woman of strong faith and spiritual conviction. She lived her life with purpose and grace, guided by beliefs that gave her strength through every season. She was very outgoing and loved to laugh, and those who knew her will remember her as someone who brought light and energy into every room she entered. Her faith was an important part of who she was, and it shaped the way she cared for others and met life’s challenges with courage.

She was educated and later devoted herself to helping others in meaningful ways. In her earlier years,  Victoria worked as a teacher before becoming a massage therapist and spiritual healer. In each of these roles, she offered comfort, encouragement, and care. She had a natural gift for making people feel seen and supported, and she used that gift throughout her life. She also assisted with setting up events for children at the Brookdale Children’s Museum, where her kindness and willingness to help made a lasting impression.

Victoria loved gardening and found joy in nurturing life and beauty around her. She appreciated the simple pleasures of home, family, and the peaceful moments that came from tending to the things she loved. Her interests reflected her gentle heart and her appreciation for growth, both in the garden and in the lives of those around her.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Anthony Della Rosa; her loving son, Jeremy Della Rosa, and his wife, Justine; her grandchild, Landon Della Rosa; her sister, Daria Smith, and her husband, Greg; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Anthony C. Della Rosa. Victoria also leaves behind her cherished dog, Smoky, and her two birds, Sunshine and Willow, who will miss her deeply.

Victoria’s  memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, July 10th, 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 3269 State Highway/ Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey, 07730. A prayer service will be offered by Saint Benedict Roman Catholic Church during the visiting hours. In respect of Victoria’s wishes, she will be privately cremated.
