Thomas J. King

Thomas J. King, 73, passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at his residence in Hazlet, New Jersey. Thomas was born on April 27, 1947 in Astoria, New York and later in life he settled in Hazlet, New Jersey. Thomas was a Telecommunications Operator for AT&T for many years before retirement. He was an avid handyman, loved skiing and the outdoors. He was fondly known by his cherished grandchildren as “Poppy”. Thomas was also a proud United States Army Veteran who bravely served our country during the Vietnam War.

Thomas was predeceased by his parents, Vienna (Vezzosi) and Charles King and his sister, Patricia Bradley. He is survived by his loving and devoted children, Joseph King and his wife, Jennifer, and Michelle King, his caring brother, Michael King, and his wife Evelyn, his treasured and adored grandchildren, Charlotte, Hailey, Nicolette, Tori, Kylie and Cody, and his dear long-time friend, Melanie Wang. Thomas will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday morning, November 23, 2020 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. In respect of Thomas’ wishes, he will be privately cremated. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in “Thomas’ memory” to the charity of your choice.

As per the regulations imposed through the State of New Jersey, there will now be a maximum of 100 persons allowed in the funeral home at one time.  In order to accommodate all of Thomas’ family and friends, we ask that you please be brief while visiting in order to make room for additional guests to pay their respects; we thank you for your understanding during this time.
