Theresa Curcio Obituary

Theresa Curcio,  passed away on May 30, 2026, in Hazlet, New Jersey, at the age of 91.

Born on February 4, 1935, in Brooklyn, New York, Theresa was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Frances (Albano) Sanky. She was born and raised in Brooklyn, where she built the foundation of a life marked by hard work, faith, and deep affection for her family and friends. Brooklyn remained an important part of her story throughout her life, and the values she learned there stayed with her always. In 2022, Theresa moved to Hazlet, New Jersey, where she spent her later years. Even as her surroundings changed, she remained the same loving and gracious woman who had always been a source of comfort and strength to others. Her faith, her gentle spirit, and her appreciation for life’s simple pleasures continued to shine through in all she did.

Theresa spent many years working as a sales representative for a Lestan’s Bridal Boutique in Brooklyn, where she was known for her professionalism, kindness, and gracious manner. She took pride in her work and in the relationships she formed along the way. Her presence was steady and welcoming, and she carried herself with the quiet dignity that so often defined her life.

Family was at the center of Theresa’s world. She was the beloved wife of the late Peter Curcio, with whom she shared many cherished years. Together, they enjoyed traveling and creating memories that remained dear to her heart. After Peter’s passing in June 2000, Theresa continued to embrace life’s joys by traveling with her sister and friends, finding happiness in new places and in the companionship of those she loved. She collected magnets from every place she visited, each one serving as a small reminder of the journeys she treasured and the experiences that enriched her life.

Theresa was a devoted mother to her surviving son, Robert Curcio, and his wife, Lucy. She was also a proud grandmother to Sarah Curcio and Anthony Curcio, who brought her great joy. Her love for her family was steadfast and unconditional, and she will be remembered for the care, encouragement, and affection she gave so freely. Her family knew her as someone who was always ready to listen, to support, and to share in both the ordinary and special moments of life.

Among Theresa’s many talents, her skill with sewing stood out. She enjoyed sewing both by machine and by hand, and she could sew anything. Her handiwork reflected patience, creativity, and an attention to detail that was admired by all who knew her. Sewing was more than a pastime for Theresa; it was an expression of her resourcefulness and her ability to create beauty with her own hands.

Theresa Curcio will be remembered with love and gratitude by her family and friends. Her life was one of devotion, resilience, and kindness, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will not be forgotten.
