Theodora M Cacatian

Theodora M. Cacatian, 78, of Hazlet, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at Anchor Care and Rehabilitation Center, Hazlet, New Jersey.  Theodora was born on November 29, 1944, in the Bronx, New York.  In her high school years, Theodora along with her family moved to Union Beach, New Jersey.  Theodora was a graduate of Red Bank Catholic High School, Red Bank, New Jersey and obtained her bachelor’s degree from New York University, New York, New York. Theodora retired from Union Beach Board of Education, Union Beach, New Jersey where she worked as an Administrative Assistant for many years. Her great faith in God gave Theodora much comfort.  She was an accomplished pianist who took great pride in playing at Carnegie Hall, New York, New York. Theodora spoke many languages fluently, some of her most favorites being, French, Spanish and Portuguese.  She loved learning about Ancient Egyptian Culture, watching police procedural shows and dancing and listening to Latin music.

Theodora was predeceased by her beloved parents, Teodorico and Dolores (Alvarado) Cacatian and two beloved grandchildren, Rafael and Zoraida Aponte. She is survived by her loving daughters, Maria Dolores Montalvo, Loana Neomi-Basquill and her husband Paul, cherished grandchildren, Tomas Montalvo Jr., and his wife Maria, Miguel Montalvo and his wife Allison, Declan Basquill and Paloma Basquill, her adoring great grandchildren, Emanuel Montalvo, Gabriel Montalvo, Emmarie Montalvo, Marciela Montalvo and Elena Montalvo. 

Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, October 22, 2023, from 2:00 to 6:00 PM and on Monday, October 23, 2023, from 8:45 to 9:30 AM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, October 23, 2023, at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, 727 Highway 35, Union Beach, New Jersey 07735.
