Susan M. Kiely died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on August 30, 2025 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune.
Susan was born in Jersey City to Beverly and Martin Kiely. She grew up in Hazlet and was a longtime Matawan resident. She graduated from Saint John Vianney High School, Holmdel, and Christ Hospital School of Nursing, Jersey City.
Susan spent her career as a Registered Nurse at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. When she began working in the Dialysis Unit, she found the specialty that best fit her. She was a Certified Nephrology Nurse whose dedication to her patients and her patience in working with new nurses made her a respected and admired colleague. She had an innate gift for dealing with the most difficult patients, and all of her patients loved her.
Susan loved spending time with her family, traveling, especially to Ireland, and spending summers on the Belmar beach.
Susan was predeceased by her parents and her sister Gayle Natale. She is survived by her siblings, Kevin and Anne Kiely, Chuck Natale, and Robyn and Pedro Rivero, nieces and nephews Marty and Megan Kiely, Geoffrey and Chrissy Kiely, Molly Natale, Wyatt Natale, Lauren and Teague Little, and Sarah Jacoby, and great-nephews and great-nieces Aiden, TJ, and Annagail Little, Jordan Schmarr, Nora and Emily Kiely, and Malcolm Kiely.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, NJ 07730. A funeral mass will be offered Thursday, September 4, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Sait Benedict Roman Catholic Church, 165 Bethany Road, Holmdel, New Jersey 07733. In accordance with Susan's wishes, she will be privately cremated.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Susan’s honor to Covenant House, PO Box 758636, Topeka KS 66675-9986, or to the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry at Saint Benedict Church, 165 Bethany Road, Holmdel, NJ 07733.
