Susan P (Mennella) Ely

Susan P. Ely (nee Mennella) 75 of Hazlet, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at Care One, Holmdel, New Jersey.  She was born Susan P. Mennella on January 10, 1947, in Brooklyn, New York where she grew up. On May 17, 1969, Susan married the love of her life Howard E. Ely, they moved to Hazlet in 1971 to raise their family. 

 Susan was a devoted communicant of Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Church, of Our Lady of Fatima Parish, Keyport, New Jersey, where she also served as a Eucharistic Minister. Susan retired as office manager after many years for Dr. Micale of Holmdel, New Jersey.  Susan was a devoted, daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

Susan was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Marie (Sanseverino) Mennella. She is survived by her beloved husband Howard E. Ely, loving children, Christine Ribeiro and her husband Sergio of West Long Branch, New Jersey, Alison Terefenko and her husband Charles of Lincroft, New Jersey, Teresa Fedo and her husband Mike of Eatontown, New Jersey, caring siblings, Linda Miller and her husband Jeff and Joseph Mennella, her cherished grandchildren, Jared Terefenko, Jordan Terefenko, Adelina Ribeiro, Shawn Ribeiro and Victoria Fedo.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, September 16, 2022, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM, and  Saturday, September 17, 2022, from 8:45 to 9:30 AM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey, 07730. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00AM, Saturday morning, September 17, 2022, at Saint Benedict Roman Catholic Church, 165 Bethany Road, Holmdel, New Jersey, 07733. Entombment will follow at Saint Joseph Cemetery/Mausoleum, 360 Broadway, Keyport, New Jersey, 07735.
