Susan Banzaca Obituary

Susan D. Banzaca, also lovingly known as “Sue”, of Sayreville, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at the age of 74, with her loving family by her side on June 5, 2026, at Roosevelt Care Center in Old Bridge, New Jersey.

Born on February 3, 1952, in Brooklyn, New York, Sue lived a life marked by love, kindness, and quiet strength. She was the beloved daughter of the late Edward and Margaret (Tracey) Donlon and grew up surrounded by the bonds of family that remained central to her throughout her life. Sue carried those early values with her always, and she shared them generously with everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Sue was raised in Hazlet, New Jersey. She met and later married the love of her life, William Banzaca on August 20, 1977, and they moved to Middletown, New Jersey and later to Sayreville, New Jersey in 2013.

Sue was a caring and dedicated retired Licensed Practical Nurse, she spent many years serving others at Bayshore Medical Center in Holmdel, New Jersey. Her work reflected the very best of who she was. She was compassionate, dependable, and selfless, and she brought comfort and dignity to countless patients and families over the course of her nursing career. Her colleagues and those she cared for will remember her for her gentle manner, her steady presence, and the genuine concern she showed to others each day.

Family was the heart of Sue’s life. She was the loving wife of William Banzaca, and together they shared a life built on devotion, companionship, and enduring love. She was the cherished mother of Kerianne Martin and her husband Collin of Middletown, New Jersey, and she took great pride in her daughter and the family she helped nurture. Sue is also survived by her caring siblings, Brian Donlon, Kerry Ansell and her husband Daniel, Maryann Zielenski and her husband Joseph, and Megann Waugh. She was predeceased by her brothers, James Donlon and Gerard Donlon, and her brother-in-law, Jack Waugh. Sue also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will forever treasure her memory and the love she gave so freely.

Sue will be remembered as a loving, kind, and selfless woman whose presence brought comfort and warmth to those around her. She had a gentle spirit and a thoughtful heart, and she made others feel cared for in ways both large and small. Her family and friends will remember her for her unwavering devotion and the grace with which she met life’s joys and challenges.

In her free time, Sue enjoyed doing puzzles, cooking, and fussing over her dogs.  These simple pleasures brought her happiness and reflected the nurturing nature that defined her life. Above all else, she cherished the time spent with family, and those moments together were among her greatest joys. Whether gathered around a table, sharing a conversation, or simply enjoying one another’s company, Sue found meaning in being surrounded by the people she loved.

Her life was a testament to the power of kindness, the importance of family, and the lasting impact of a caring heart. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. The love she gave, the lives she touched, and the example she set will remain a lasting source of comfort and inspiration.

In respect of Sue’s wishes, she will be privately cremated.
