Sophie Eva Klett, 70, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2025, at Care One in Moorestown, New Jersey. Born on October 15, 1955, in Newark, New Jersey, Sophie's life was a testament to the enduring power of kindness and the joy of cherishing every moment.
Sophie's journey through life was marked by her dedication to her family. After being raised in Newark, she moved to the Sayreville/Parlin area in 1984, where she raised her daughter, Alyssa. Sophie's professional life was characterized by her many years of service as a store manager for Quick Check in East Brunswick, where she was respected and admired by her colleagues and customers alike. Later in life, Sophie ventured to Arizona, embracing new experiences and friendships, before returning to Keyport, New Jersey in 2021.
A woman of many interests, Sophie found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had an enduring fascination with the moon, often capturing its beauty through the lens of her camera. Her love for photography was only matched by the love she had for her family, especially her sisters, with whom she shared an unbreakable bond. Sophie's philosophy was to live every day to the fullest, a principle she embodied with grace and gratitude.
Above all, Sophie was a loving and selfless individual. Her favorite moments were those spent surrounded by her family, particularly her two granddaughters, who were the light of her life. She nurtured and guided them with the same love and care she extended to everyone she met.
Sophie was the beloved daughter of the late John and Marie (Worden) Hornchak. She was a devoted wife to her late husband, Frank Klett, and a loving sister to her late siblings, Shirley Sokolowski, John-John Hornchak, and William Hornchak, and brother-in-law Mike Minnie. Her legacy continues through her cherished daughter, Alyssa A. Hornchak, and her husband, Kevin, of Burlington, New Jersey, as well as her adored granddaughters, Anastasia and Nevaeh Clayborn. Sophie's memory will also be treasured by her surviving siblings, Rose Minnie, Dorothy Torre and her husband, Mike, and George Hornchak and his wife, Carol, along with her sister-in-law, Debbie Hornchak, and a host of extended family members and friends who were touched by her warmth and generosity.
Sophie's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with the threads of love and family. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she leaves behind. As we bid farewell to Sophie Eva Klett, we celebrate a life well-lived and a legacy of love that will endure for generations to come. Her memory will be cherished, and her presence deeply missed.
