Sophie C (Sakowski) Grabowski

Sophie C. Grabowski, 84, of Keyport, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at Bayside Manor.  She was born Sophie Concetta Sakowski on August 8, 1941, in Red Bank, New Jersey, and grew up in Matawan.  Sophie and her husband, Frank, were married on February 2, 1963, and started their life and family together in Keyport.  Before her retirement, Sophie worked for Dr. George A. Rooney.  She first started her career as a dental assistant and retired as an office manager after over 50 years of dedicated service.

Sophie adored traveling with her husband, Frank, whenever possible.  She always took pride in cooking and baking for others.  She enjoyed the time she spent with her beloved grandchildren, who were truly the apple of her eye.  She made sure she was always there for them in all of life’s moments, whether big or small.  Sophie was known for her big smile and warm laughter. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend to many.  She will be greatly missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

She was predeceased by her parents, Concetta (Ferrante) and Peter Sakowski Sr., and her beloved husband, Frank Grabowski Jr.   Sophie is survived by her devoted son, Frank Grabowski III and his wife, Christine, of Keyport, her cherished grandchildren, Frankie and Cara, her dear brothers, Joseph Sakowski (her twin brother), Peter Sakowski Jr. and his wife, Maria, Daniel Sakowski and his wife, Priscilla, and Dominic Sakowski and his wife, Shelley, along with many treasured nieces and nephews.

The Grabowski family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to all the staff at Bayside Manor for all the loving and devoted care they have given Sophie over the last few years.  It is greatly appreciated and has not gone unnoticed. 

Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, September 11, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday morning, September 12, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Church – Our Lady of Fatima Parish, 376 Maple Place, Keyport, New Jersey 07735.  Entombment will follow at Green Grove Cemetery in Keyport.
