Sebastian J. Soccoa, 71, of Marlboro, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on January 10, 2025. Fondly known as Sibby, he was born February 24, 1953, in Brooklyn, New York, where he grew up and met his beloved wife, Denise. On November 8, 1987, Sebastian and Denise were married and began their life and family together on Bergen Street in Brooklyn. In 2012, they moved to Middletown, New Jersey, where they remained to raise their family. Recently in 2023 they settled in Marlboro, New Jersey. For many years, Sibby worked as a building engineer for Jack Resnick and Sons in Manhattan, New York. Sebastian was an avid piano player and talented musician who brought music and joy to everyone he came across. His charisma and charm were unmatched. Above all else, he was a loving husband, devoted father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend to many. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
Sibby was predeceased by his parents, Jimmy and Jennie (Votta) Soccoa. Sebastian is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 37 years, Denise (Fitzpatrick) Soccoa, his loving children, Meaghan Lindsay and her husband Robert of Middletown, Vincent Soccoa of Marlboro, his dear sisters Rose Cipriano and her husband Peter of New Hope, Pennsylvania, Catherine Griffin and her husband Matthew of Middletown, his cherished grandson Robert Lindsay, along with his nieces and nephews Jennifer Glebocki, Jake Glebocki, Brian Griffin, James Griffin and Jennifer Cipriano and his great nephew and niece Mason Glebocki and Mila Glebocki.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, January 13, 2025, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Tuesday January 14, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM Wednesday morning, January 15, 2025, from 9:45 to 10:30 AM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday morning, January 15, 2025, at 11:15 AM at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 165 Bethany Road, New Jersey 07733.
