Sarah A. Hynes

Sarah A. Hynes, 84, of Old Bridge, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Bayshore Hospital, Holmdel, New Jersey.  She was born Sarah Rooney on April 10, 1935 in County Leitrim, Irleland. She came to the United States in 1957 and settled In Glen Rock, New Jersey.  In 1959, she moved to Queens, New York, and in 1973 she moved to Hazlet. In 2003, she settled in Cheesequake Village, Old Bridge New Jersey. Sarah was a food service worker at Bayshore Hospital for many years before retirement.

Sarah was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Mary (McGowan) Rooney, and her beloved husband, Thomas J. Hynes.  She is survived by her dear and loving children, Thomas J. Hynes, III and the late, Barbara of Howell, New Jersey, Linda Hynes-Gajewski and her husband, Stephen of West Long Branch, New Jersey, and Diane Hynes-Davis and her husband Matthew of Washingtonville, New York, her caring siblings, Patrick Rooney and his wife, Mary, Moira Rooney and Theresa Rooney, and her cherished grandchildren, T. J. Hynes, IV, Haley Hynes, Aidan Gajewski, Liam Gajewski, Abigal Davis, Alexandra Davis and Addison Davis. Sarah will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, March 15, 2020 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM and Monday morning March 16, 2020 from 8:45 AM to 9:30 AM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, March 16, 2020 at 10:00 AM at St. Lawrence RC Church, 109 Laurence Parkway, Laurence Harbor, New Jersey 08879.
